Captain Mike Medeiros brought the Bama Belle to Tuscaloosa in 2001. Since then, the Bama Belle has been received by Alabamians and become a part of the West Alabama culture. Upon the tragic and sudden loss of Captain Mike in December 2005, the spouse of Captain Mike and co-owner, Nikki Medeiros, continued to operate and manage the Belle along with the loving support of the community. The Bama Belle is now in need of maintenance and repair, including the replacement of the chains and sprokets. Your membership in the BBRC will help fund these needed repairs so she can continue to be the state's only operational paddle wheeler and our very own lady watching over the banks of the Black Warrior River, Port of Tuscaloosa.
